m15m: New Moon in Fifteen Minutes
Freaking HILARIOUS. There is also a link to Twilight in 15 minutes at the top of this entry. And I haven't read the books OR seen the movies.
Can you spot the typo?

Check out this op-ed cartoon. Got a really good chuckle out it :).
I'm back after a week of being immersed in nature, enjoying the company of my parents and my sweetie. We had an amazing time floating in kayaks on Puget Sound, admiring purple and orange sea stars, being delighted by playful and timid otters and basking in the warm, autumn glow of the the changing leaves in the North Cascades. There were brief intrusions into this delightful escape, with people around us at times commenting on current events (e.g. the VP debates and the congress passing the bailout package). I know I didn't "miss" anything in terms of world events, but if anything happened that you want to make sure I know about, please let me know. I'll try to post more - at least a few pictures - soon.
ETA: speaking of the VP debate, this flow chart has been making the rounds. Too good not to share.

ubiquity75: George Michael singing with Queen [this is a link to a YouTube video]! It rocks.
Now a holiday classic (in my mind, if nowhere else): David Sedaris's SantaLand Diaries on This American Life (plus a few others) :D

Mr. Sedaris is hilarious!
The Voice of the London Underground has been silenced.
The voice of the London Underground has just been fired for recording and posting some spoofs on her own website. "Mind the gap" no more.
Funny :).

Do you all remember that horrible song, "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt and the delicious parody about the cubicle that someone else wrote? Well, there is a new song called "Delilah" by the Plain White T's and someone has written a parody that delights me in the same way the cubicle parody does.

Some of the following 20 pop idols are Jewish. Some are not. Your job: figure out which are which. Keep in mind that if one parent is Jewish, we count them in the Judaic-Hebraic column. And when you see a photograph of a band, what we're really asking is whether there is anyone Jewish in the group. Got it?
Go take the quiz!

Hee hee. Alternate book covers.
We heard this piece this morning on the radio. But with the wonders of the Internet, you can get it with video!
